AFTER THE EVENTS MATTHEW WEST / JESUS IS KING TOUR CONCEPT SEVEN DAYS OF ENCOURAGEMENT Original EMP sample reflections. Pending tour approval. Not written or endorsed by Matthew West or TPR. Read each passage in your Bible, reflect, and choose a practical response. DAY 1: BEGIN WITH JESUS Read: Colossians 1:15–20 The declaration that Jesus is King reaches into ordinary life. Paul directs our attention to who Jesus is: the One through whom all things were made and through whom God brings reconciliation. Begin this week by making room to consider Him before rushing into the next demand. Reflect: What does this passage help you see about Jesus? One next step: Read the passage slowly. Name one part of your day you want to bring under His guidance. DAY 2: YOU CAN BE KNOWN Read: Psalm 139:1–12 God knows more than the version of yourself you show to others. Psalm 139 describes His knowledge and presence in the details of life. You can come to Him honestly with gratitude, questions, and needs. Consider what it means to be fully known while turning toward Him in prayer. Reflect: Where do you feel pressure to pretend everything is fine? One next step: Pray honestly about one thing you have been carrying. If helpful, ask a trusted person to pray with you. DAY 3: KEEP BRINGING IT TO GOD Read: Philippians 4:4–7 Prayer is an invitation to bring our needs to God with thanksgiving. You do not need perfect words, and a continuing concern does not mean you have failed. Return to Him with what is real today. Let prayer become a regular conversation as you move through the week. Reflect: What concern keeps returning to your mind? One next step: Choose a consistent moment today to pray. Name your concern and one reason for gratitude. DAY 4: RECEIVE GRACE. RESPOND WITH LOVE. Read: Ephesians 2:8–10 Paul places grace before good works. Our response grows from what God has given, rather than an attempt to prove our worth. Consider the work already in front of you: a relationship, a responsibility, or a person who needs care. Small acts of faithfulness can become expressions of gratitude. Reflect: Where could gratitude for God’s grace shape your response today? One next step: Choose one act of kindness you can do without seeking attention or repayment. DAY 5: NOTICE THE STORY YOU ARE LIVING Read: Psalm 107:1–9 This psalm remembers people who cried out in need and experienced God’s care. Reflect on your own story without feeling pressure to make it dramatic or complete. A simple account of help, hope, or growth can encourage another person. It is also honest to acknowledge where you are still waiting. Reflect: Where have you noticed God’s care, or the care of His people? One next step: Write three sentences: what you faced, what helped, and what you are learning. Keep them for reflection or share with someone you trust. DAY 6: ENCOURAGE SOMEONE ELSE Read: Hebrews 10:23–25 Faith is lived alongside other people. This passage calls us to consider how to encourage one another toward love and good works. That begins with noticing people, making time, and showing up. You do not need to have every answer to offer a faithful presence. Reflect: Who could use your encouragement this week? One next step: Reach out to one person. Ask a sincere question, listen, and arrange a practical way to stay connected. DAY 7: CARRY FAITH INTO YOUR WEEK Read: Colossians 3:12–17 Following Jesus takes shape in patience, forgiveness, love, gratitude, and the words we speak. Those choices continue when the concert is a memory. Look back over the week and choose one practice you want to carry forward with the support of your church or trusted friends. Reflect: Which response from this week would you like to make a regular practice? One next step: Write down one next step, when you will take it, and who can encourage you as you follow through.
